Fundamentals of Eskrima Serrada and Kali

Eskrima and Kali class - now in San Francisco!

Universal Martial Arts Academy teaches fundamentals of the Filipino arts of Eskrima Serrada and Kali. Classes focus on practical survival techniques against weapons, transitioning through fighting ranges, good footwork, and understanding angles. We feature empty hands training in addition to weapons training.

Universal Martial Arts Academy founder, Professor James Hundon, has been training in Filipino martial arts since the 1980's. Some of his FMA teachers have included Grandmaster Remy Presas, the founder of Modern Arnis; Grandmaster Tony Somera of Bahala Na; Master Khalid Khan, a student of Grandmaster Angel Cabales; and Pangulong Guro Sultan "Shaykh" Uddin, a student of Grandmaster Angel Cabales and founder of the International Eskrima Serrada Association (IESA).

More recently, Professor Hundon is a certified Edged Weapons Instructor, a Full Instructor in Jeet Kune Do Concepts, and one of the Descendants of the Masters under Sigung Paul Vunak. He currently trains with Sifu Harinder Singh Sabharwal, Senior Training Officer of Progressive Fighting Systems, under Sigung Paul Vunak.
